Athenry v Loughrea clash rumbles on

The stand-off between Galway hurling clubs Athenry and Loughrea in the wake of their SHC quarter-final clash has taken a new twist.

Athenry are upset that Loughrea have handed a video of the ill-tempered tie to the Galway GAC, without sending them a copy.

Athenry released a statement last night, saying they feel they are entitled to copy of the video for their own defence in the investigation.

The sides clashed on the pitch a fortnight ago, and Athenry triumphed, despite sendings-off on both sides.
