Three changes for Maughan's Mayo U21s

Mayo manager John Maughan has made three changes to his U21 side for their Erin All-Ireland final clash against Ulster champions Armagh tomorrow at Breffni Park (4.00pm).

Having watched the Connacht champions defeat Kildare 1-13 to 1-7 early last month in Tuam, Maughan has moved to alter the spine of his side.

Ballaghaderreen's Stephen Drake comes in for Ritchie Feeney at left-wing back, Chris Barrett of Lahardane replaces Niall Lydon at midfield and Paul Doherty, hugely influential in Mayo retaining their provincial title, makes way for Knockmore attacker Aidan Kilcoyne.

Castlebar minor Barry Moran continues in midfield, with Ronan McNamara moved to centre-half forward.

Maughan has included four senior panellists who tasted action at Croke Park five days ago - Dermot Geraghty and Paddy Navin in the full-back line, and captain Andy Moran and Michael Conroy, a 69th minute goalscorer against Kerry, up front.

A first U21 title since 1983 - when Maughan was a medallist - and fourth in all would certainly ease the westerners' senior pain.

MAYO U21 (v Armagh): F Ruddy; D Geraghty, P Navin, T Howley; M Carey, L O'Malley, S Drake; B Moran, C Barrett; A Kilcoyne, R McNamara, A Moran (Capt); A Costello, D Munnelly, M Conroy.
