McGee's appointment was announced last night at a county board meeting following the resignation of Gerry Fahy as football manager on Monday night. The players came out in support of Fahy and have withdrawn their services.
McGee’s appointment has the backing of all concernced.
Last night's meeting was informed of a list of players' demands which included requests for improvements in quality of training facilities and team preparations.
The county board added it hoped the appointment of McGee would help to resolve the dispute.
