Cody's position under threat

Kilkenny boss Brian Cody's position could be under threat in the wake of last Sunday's All-Ireland hurling final defeat to Cork.

After six years at the top for Cody, two former Cats' stars are thought to be interested in succeeding him.

Liam Fennelly and John Power are understood to be interested in taking up the managerial baton from the Cats' boss.

Fennelly skippered Kilkenny to All-Ireland titles in 1983 and 1992, and was also on the winning sides of 1982 and 1993.

Power won All-Irelands in 1992, 1993, 2002 and 2003.

Cody has guided the Slaneysiders to five All-Ireland senior finals in six years, winning three titles.
