Waterford forward halts suspension appeal

Waterford All Star John Mullane has ruled out a High Court action to overturn his GAC suspension.

The flying forward was suspended for one game for his dismissal in the Munster final against Cork.

He will serve the ban for Waterford's All-Ireland semi-final against the winners of Kilkenny and Clare.

In reaching their decision, the GAC rejected the Waterford County Board's stance that the provincial championships are a different competition from the All-Ireland championships.

Mullane said he was "absolutely gutted".
