Stack: Roll on Kerry

One hundred and eight years on and Limerick senior footballers are once again in back-to-back Munster finals.

Yesterday’s hugely impressive 1-18 to 0-7 demolition of Waterford in the Gaelic Grounds has set up a mouth-watering rematch with the side that beat them at the same stage last year in Killarney.

And this time, the 10th of July clash will be on the home turf of the newly-refurbished Ennis Road stadium.

“Roll on Kerry”, said captain Tommy Stack leaving the field. “It’s a chance to put right what we did wrong last year.”

“It’s a huge day”, agreed manager Liam Kearns. “It’s what we’ve been aiming for all year and we’re going into it with a serious chance.”

They won’t be joined in the chase for Munster glory by the junior foorballers.

In yesterday’s curtain-raiser, Gerry Molyneaux’s side were caught by a late Waterford scoring burst to go out on a 0-10 to 0-7 margin.
