GPA launch telecom fundraiser
The Gaelic Players’ Association has today announced details of a €2m joint venture arrangement with new telecommunications company, ClubTel.
The collaboration between the GPA and ClubTel presents GAA clubs throughout the Island of Ireland with a unique new revenue generating mechanism.
The venture is targeting to generate cash for grass roots GAA clubs by giving back a significant portion of the revenues earned by ClubTel from GAA club members’ fixed line residential and business telephone bills.
By transferring their telephone service from their existing provider to the ClubTel service, members of the ClubTel scheme will see a twice yearly reallocation of 10% of their phone bill value directly back to the club.
Similarly, a further 5% of their phone bill value will be given to the GPA.
ClubTel is targeting to recruit 80,000 customers out of a total GAA community of 1.2 million people between the North of Ireland and Republic of Ireland in the first six months.
