Newtown wait on forward's fitness

All-Ireland club hurling finalists Newtownshandrum have a major injury doubt over ace forward John Paul King ahead of tomorrow's Croke Park decider.

King broke a bone in his hand during a challenge game against UCC 10 days ago and is rated extremely doubtful for the Dunloy date.

A team source said: "We were trying to play it down, hoping that he’ll recover in time but at this stage it looks like he’ll be under fierce pressure to make the game."
