Late Limerick show beats the Royals
Limerick 2-5 Meath 1-8
Limerick left it to the last moment to salvage a point from their home tie with Meath and retain their position at the head of Division 1B.
Conor Mullane’s fisted goal from a goalmouth scramble three minutes into injury time was the final action of a helter-skelter closing period that was in sharp contrast to an otherwise very pedestrian game.
Despite playing with the strong wind, Limerick missed many chances as the team went in level at 0-4 apiece at the break.
Limerick grabbed the lead with Stephen Kelly’s goal in the 63rd minute but Meath’s Evan Kelly found the net directly from the kick out and looked set to win against the run of play before Mullane struck.
