Speculation is rife that Limerick skipper Ciarán Carey has been left out of the side because of a lack of form ahead of Sunday's Offaly encounter.

Carey has yet to find his best form this term. Although the official line for his absence is an ankle injury, rumours are rife it is form-related.

Meanwhile, boss Pad Joe Whelahan is without Brian Geary (finger), Peter Lawlor (hand) and Niall Moran (leg).
