Donegal star Gildea awaits doctors orders

Donegal football star John Gildea will not commit to another season of inter-county duty until he gets the all clear from medical chiefs later this month.

The Glenties midfielder has suffered from a long-term knee complaint for the last number of seasons and is eagerly awaiting the green light to resume.

Gildea said: "I am in to see the surgeon at the end of the month and a lot depends on what he has to say. We'll have to wait and see. I might give it a shot."
