Nugent pulls out of Waterford running

Successful U21 boss Pat Nugent has ruled himself out of the running for the senior football vacancy in Waterford following the departure of Denis Walsh.

Nugent led the Decies to their first ever U21 Munster title last season with famous wins over Cork and then Kerry in the final but is not keen on the senior job.

It is understood that Johnny Hennessy, a selector under Nugent in that historic Munster success, is the county board's chief target.
