Armagh boss Kernan calls for video referee

Armagh football manager Joe Kernan has called on the GAA to introduce a video referee for inter-county games similar to that used by rugby chiefs.

Kernan made the call following the Central Council's eventual overturning of Diarmuid Marsden's All-Ireland final red card at last Saturday's meeting.

Kernan said: "I’m not trying to take power away from the referee but rather to provide a support mechanism.

"Rugby operates video equipment to adjudicate in situations and it works very well."
