Offaly football star Kenny calls it a day

Offaly football star John Kenny has opted to retire from the inter-county scene in a football versus family tug of war.

Kenny, 29, has a young family and admitted he just couldn't balance the hectic inter-county schedule with his family life any more.

The two time National League winner said: "I have been playing senior inter-county football for 11 years but I have a young family now and I am just not able to give that commitment any more.”
