GAA chiefs are ready to make the staging of the Railway Cup hurling final in Europe a regular date in their calendar after the successful Rome trip.

Leinster picked up the first ever national GAA title to be played on mainland Europe and association sources said it was a massive success.

A GAA source said: "We'll sit down after the football finals and assess where things stand but it would be safe to say we're strongly considering keeping the competition in Europe."
