Hogan confirmed as Tipp hurling boss

Former star goalkeeper Ken Hogan was tonight confirmed as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team for a two-year term.

Hogan will have with him as selectors Jack Bergin and Colm Bonnar.

Bergin and Hogan were part of the management team with Nicky English that brought Tipp All-Ireland honours in 2001.

Bonnar, on the staff at Waterford IT, was a selector with Waterford for the last two years.

Their appointment follows weeks of speculation in the wake of the resignation of Michael Doyle after Tipp's defeat by Kilkenny in the All-Ireland semi-final.
