Rumours of Tipp bust-up strongly denied by Chairman
Rumours of a bust-up between players and management of the Tipperary senior hurling team at half time in the All-Ireland semi-final against Kilkenny have been strongly denied by the Chairman of the County Board Donie Shanahan.
He said that the rumours which have been doing the rounds in the county since the defeat are unfounded and without substance.
"There was no confrontation on that day and there was no problem. I want that message to go out to all our supporters so that the rumours can be put to bed once and for all," he said.
The Chairman added that as is normal practice, officers of the Board will be meeting with the team manager Michael Doyle and his selectors to discuss the year and to iron out any difficulties that may have arisen.
The management team of Liam Sheedy, Kevin Fox and Doyle have another year left on their contract.
Meanwhile the Tipp hurling squad held a private meeting at the weekend to discuss and review the year. No statement was issued afterwards but it is understood the players will be having a meeting with management.
