Dublin see off Kerry in ladies semi
Dublin 0-13, Kerry 0-8 (full-time)
Dublin dispatched Robbie Griffin’s Kerry side to march into their county’s first ever All-Ireland final, thanks to a run of nine scores in the second half, and despite having half-back Orla Colreavy red-carded.
17-year-old Kasey O’Driscoll, doubling with 1993 All-Ireland winner Geraldine O’Shea of Corca Dhuibhne in the forward line, pointed six times between them in the first half as Kerry went in at the break, 0-7 to 0-3 in front.
Mick Bohan’s Metropolitans, Leinster champions in the past two seasons, hit the first four scores of the second period to draw level, with two points from inspirational Ballinteer midfielder Angie McNally.
Substitute Gemma Fay’s 38th minute point saw Dublin hit the front, before they were dealt a blow with Colreavy’s second yellow.
The Kingdom’s only score in the second half came from an O’Shea free, as Dublin could afford to miss a 51st minute penalty through Karen Hopkins, in advancing to meet Mayo.
