McCarthy to stay on in Waterford role

Waterford hurling manager Justin McCarthy has been ratified to continue on for another term by his county board despite a less than successful year.

Corkman McCarthy had to fight off the attentions of successful Mount Sion boss Jim Greene who had made his own interest in the job known.

County secretary Seamus Grant said: "Justin McCarthy was unanimously voted back in as Waterford manager for another 12 months.

"Nicky Cashin and Seamie Hannon have been confirmed as selectors."
