Kelly puts back player group plans
GAA president Sean Kelly has confirmed that elections to the new Croke Park-controlled Players' group have been put back until after the All-Ireland finals.
The rebel Gaelic Players' Association have been against the idea from the off insisting that they should look after GAA members, solely but Kelly insisted the deferral had nothing to do with the GPA's protests.
Kelly said: "Some players came to me, some GPA members, some not, and asked for extra time and I have given them that.
"Obviously the focus of any team is to win the All-Ireland and that's their target right now. That's not a process I want to interfere with."
