Offaly lead Limerick by a clear goal in the early stages of their All-Ireland qualifier tie at Semple Stadium.

Brendan Murphy kicked his sixth Championship goal to the net in the fifth minute after a meandering and unchallenged solo run from midfield.

Brian Carroll, Rory Hanniffy and Murphy pointed for Offaly, while Niall Moran and Donncha Sheahan (2) are the Limerick scorers.

Full-forward Brian Begley failed a late fitness test and was replaced by James O'Brien.
