Kerrigan becomes fifth boss to step down
Cavan boss Mattie Kerrigan has resigned his position and become the fifth inter-county football manager to step down this season.
Former Meath All-Ireland winner Kerrigan led Cavan to the league final last year but suffered dismal championship exits in both 2002 and 2003 leaving him with little choice but to walk away.
Kerrigan joins Paddy Carr (Louth), Peter Ford (Sligo), Tom McGlinchey (Tipperary) and Dom Twomey (Wexford) in moving aside.
