Former Dublin selector Dom Twomey has backed the Blues to down Derry and march confidently through to the next round of the All-Ireland qualifiers.

Former Dublin selector Dom Twomey has backed the Blues to down Derry and march confidently through to the next round of the All-Ireland qualifiers.

The Dubs face Derry tomorrow in Clones and Twomey, the current Wexford boss, believes they have a great chance of progressing having seen Derry in action in the league first hand this year.

Twomey said: "Despite what has been said and written about them they have not become a bad team overnight. They are a pacey side and should hold the edge in this game."
