Croker's hands tied on helmet appeal
The GAA's Head of Games Pat Daly has made it clear that Croke Park doesn't have the power to impose a mandatory helmet rule for hurlers.
A serious injury to a Kilkenny youngster recently has sparked calls for helmets to be made compulsory for players.
But Daly stressed: "Playing rules can only be discussed every five years so the next time it could come up is 2005".
