All-Ireland champion topplers Monaghan lead Westmeath by 0-09 to 0-02 at half-time in the All-Ireland Football Championship qualifying series.

The Northerners lost to Down in the Ulster quarter-final while Westmeath lost to neighbours and bitter rivals Meath in a replay.
