Armagh romp past Waterford
Waterford 0-08 2-21 Armagh
Second half goals from Oisin McConville, a penalty in the 14th minute, and from Steven McDonnell 12 minutes later set up All-Ireland champions Armagh with a comprehensive victory over Waterford in the All-Ireland Football Championship first-round qualifier at Walsh Park, Waterford
The winners led by five points 0-11 to 0-6 at half time, after they scored three unanswered points in the opening nine minutes of the game.
Waterford cut the deficit to the minimum at the end of the opening quarter, but that was as close as they came to the All-Ireland champions.
Despite having to wait ten minutes for their opening score of the second period, Armagh were the dominant side from there to the finish, and a succession of points from McConville, Barry O’Hagan, John McEntee, Paddy McKeever and McDonnell saw the visitors record a 19-point victory.
