Laois breeze past Wicklow in SHC opener
Laois 2 - 22 Wicklow 0 - 10
First half goals by Michael McEvoy and Liam Tynan helped Laois to an easy win in this Leinster Senior Hurling Championship preliminary round clash in Portlaoise.
Level at 0-4 apiece after 13 minutes, it started to go wrong for Wicklow when McEvoy's speculative shot from 45 metres finished in the net.
When Tynan burst through on 27 minutes to make it 2-8 to 0-5, it was over as a contest.
