Cats down Dubs with 14-point massacre
Dublin 2-08, Kilkenny 2-22
Kilkenny made up for their embarrassing Walsh Cup final defeat with a 14-point massacre of Dublin in Division 1A of the National Hurling League at Parnell Park.
Still reeling from their defeat to Dublin last month, Kilkenny were up for this one and closed out the game with a second-half wonder show up front.
The Cats led 1-08 to 0-05 at the break but sensing another upset, Brian Cody’s boys upped their game with Henry Shefflin (0-05), DJ Carey and Tommy Walsh hitting the vital scores to down Dublin.
