Influential duo quit Galway hurling

Veteran goalkeeper Damien Howe and midfielder Gordon Glynn have both quit the Galway hurling set-up in a blow to new boss Conor Hayes.

Howe is a controversial figure in Galway hurling and was substituted last Sunday after leaking a soft goal to Clare's Niall Gilligan.

The former U-21 star cites work commitments as the primary reason for quitting while Glynn is sticking to the same reason.
