Classy Cork beat out-of-sorts Dublin

Classy Cork racked up their first NFL Div 1A daytime win against an out-of-sorts Dublin side at Parnell Park.

Inspired by the brilliance of half-forward Brendan Jer O’Sullivan, Cork shot into an early lead and never looked back.

Having failed to win any of their previous daytime games, this win was just the tonic for boss Larry Tompkins, whose side are now in the shake-up for league honours.

O’Sullivan hit 0-05 on the day and helped Cork to an 0-07 top 0-05 interval lead.

There was a moment of reprieve for Dublin after the break when Ray Cosgrove converted two frees, but O’Sullivan, James O’Shea and Graham Canty pulled ahead for the Rebels with a string of points.
