Cork snatch victory from Galway

Cork snatched a one point victory over a Galway side - riding on a high after hammering Kerry - at Páirc Uí Rinn tonight.

It was level pegging until a point and a goal from Micheal Meehan pushed the Tribesmen's into a 1-2 to 0-2 lead.

Galway stayed in front until the break and took a 1-3 to 0-5 lead to the dressing room.

The Rebels rallied in the second half but Galway maintained their lead until Cork pulled back a goal through Colin McCarthy with four minutes to go to level the scores at 1-9 apiece.

Corner forward James O'Shea added another point to seal a win for Cork.
