IT Sligo beat Mayo in Connacht League

Sigerson Cup champions Sligo IT picked up their first win in the Connacht FBD League at Ballinode on last night.

The Students had to withstand a second-half barrage from Mayo though who sprung first team giants including Conor and Trevor Mortimer along with James Gill from the bench.

Sligo led 0-7 to 0-2 at the break but were delighted in the end to hold out for a one point win thanks largely to the presence of Nicky Joyce (0-8 for the game).
