Kildare, Dublin and Wexford enjoy O'Byrne Cup wins

There were wins today for Kildare, Dublin and Wexford in the quarter-finals of the O'Byrne Cup, while the Meath-Longford clash didn't go ahead due to a frozen pitch.

Kildare began life without Mick O'Dwyer with a win. Padraig Nolan's side defeated Luke Dempsey's Westmeath 1-11 to 0-13, with a Karl Ennis goal the difference between the sides.

Meanwhile Dublin's second string defeated Wicklow 1-9 to 0-5.

With the senior side in South Africa, David Billings saw the younger Dubs impress against John O'Leary's Wicklow.

Paul O'Kelly's tenure as Offaly boss began with a loss as Wexford came from seven points down at the break to win 2-11 to 1-10 at Tullamore.
