Shelly recalled to Tipperary squad
Former Tipperary hurling star Paul Shelly has been given the chance to resurrect his inter-county hurling career.
Twenty-six year old Shelly has not figured on the Tipperary team for two years after some outstanding games as a defender and a full-forward.
He missed out on Tipperary's All-Ireland senior win in 2001. Now he is set to re-launch his career, having been called back into the training squad by new manager Michael Doyle in preparation for the National Hurling League.
Shelly is one of 11 additions to the panel which has resumed training. However, missing from the squad is under-21 full-back Paul Curran, who has opted out after being in the squad for the last two years.
Football star Declan Browne declined an invitation to join the squad - he is concentrating on football.
