Mount Sion bridge gap beating Sixmilebridge - report
Mount Sion 0-12 Sixmilebridge 0-10
Mount Sion bridged a 21-year gap when they had two points to spare over Sixmilebridge in the AIB Munster Club Senior Hurling Final played at a sparsely populated Semple Stadium.
This decider was played in atrocious conditions, and the Waterford champions aided by a strong gale led by nine points to four at the break, relying heavily on Ken McGrath for most of those scores.
The centre-forward was on song, striking six points in the opening 30 minutes.
After the restart Mount Sion increased their lead to 0-5 with another McGrath free but from then until the 56th minute the Waterford city club found it difficult to get into the 'Bridge half of the field.
The Clare champions hit back with five unanswered points as the game headed into the last 10 minutes but a resolute Mount Sion stole the show in the final moments and two points from McGrath - one from play and one from a free - ensured the club title was being added to the inter-county title already won by Waterford earlier this season.
