GAA President-elect Sean Kelly has admitted he favours scrapping minor games as the warm up to senior ties at Croke Park - to allow more players compete at HQ.

Kerryman Kelly, who will succeed Sean McCague in the President's position, admitted he was turned off by the fact that many minor players play at Croke Park before they're 18, while some senior players never experience it.

He said: "We have got to encourage players from weaker counties and that includes providing an incentive to be part of the big occasions at Croke Park."
