Players seek delay in O'Hare appointment

Almost the entire Antrim football team have sought a delay in the appointment of new manager PJ O'Hare.

O'Hare was pencilled in to succeed Brian White but it is understood that 14 members of the panel have requested, by way of an unsigned letter, the delay.

They are said to be miffed with the county board's poor treatment of the football panel compared to the high profile hurlers.

O'Hare said: "I was disappointed by the players' attitude but am confident that I have the support of the County Board. The fact that no player signed his name was in itself shallow."
