McKenna hits out at McRory departure

Eugene McKenna has hit out at the handling of Art McRory's departure from his role as joint Tyrone football manager this week.

McKenna had planned to assume colleague McRory's management duties for a period while the veteran manager was treated for a medical illness.

But the Tyrone county board scuppered those plans by immediately disbanding the partnership without informing the duo.

McKenna lashed: "I'm disappointed nobody found it worthwhile to advise us they were issuing a statement. The least I would have expected was a phone call to either Art or myself to inform us of their decision".
