GAA want IR 2003 played in Australia

GAA officials are believed to be holding firm over plans to travel to Australia for next year's International Rules series.

The Aussies are expecting to have problems hosting the series because of the 2003 Rugby World Cup which is being staged at various grounds in Australia.

AFL officials have mooted the possibility of playing the series in Ireland again next year and doubling up the games in Australia in 2004 and 2005.

The GAA appears to have rejected that idea.

They could even have problems themselves with the timing of the games because of Croke Park's part hosting of the 2003 Special Olympic games.
