Murphy urged to reconsider Cork job

Discussion at last night's Cork County Board meeting has fuelled speculation that former hurling boss Bertie Og Murphy could be urged to reconsider his decision to resign the post.

The executive committee said that talks with the senior hurling panel would continue as both parties were anxious for a speedy resolution to the current difficulties.

Cork County Board chairman Jim Cronin said he was confident that all outstanding matters could be dealt with amicably.

He further advised that while they had received letters of resignation from both Bertie Og Murphy and Ted Owen, these would not be dealt with until all discussions were complete.
