Derry manager furious over demotion

Derry hurling manager Dominic McKinley has reacted angrily to the county's Allianz NHL demotion to Division 2

Earlier in the year McKinley was approached about taking a voluntary demotion but refused and beat Meath in a play-off to stay up.

However, the demotion has gone through anyway and McKinley blasted: "It's a downright disgrace. They decided that Derry aren't good enough but why didn't they put Dublin down? They only beat us by a point this year."

The move is part of the Hurling Development Committee's plans to restructure the league with two groups of five in Division One.
