Holmes quits as Mayo boss

The hunt has begun to find Pat Holmes' successor as Mayo senior football manager.

Holmes, a former All-Ireland finalist as a player with the westerners, ended a three year stint in charge last night citing work commitments as his reason.

Former county boss John Maughan has been tipped to take over.
