Kennedy takes over as Clare boss

Former Kerry star John Kennedy has been drafted in as Pat Begley's replacement as Clare football manager.

Begley, father of Limerick dual star Brian, stepped aside as senior football manager earlier this summer.

Kennedy, a wing-forward dynamo with the Kingdom in the early 1980s, follows in current Ireland manager John O'Keeffe's shoes in taking over the Bannermen.
