Halligan set to continue as Wexford boss
Wexford GAA officials are expected to re-appoint Ger Halligan as the county’s senior football manager this evening after former Dublin boss Tommy Carr withdrew from the race.
Carr had put his name forward after spending the last year as an advisor to the Model County, but his decision to withdraw clears the way for Halligan to secure a fourth year in charge.
Meanwhile, former Cavan manager Martin McHugh has said he has not been approached to fill the managerial vacancy in Donegal.
Mickey Moran stepped down as the county’s football boss following their championship defeat against Dublin earlier this year and McHugh’s name is believed to top the shortlist of replacements.
