O'Dwyer on verge of staying on at Kildare

Mick O'Dwyer is reported to be on the verge of continuing as Kildare manager for another year.

It was believed that Kerry legend O'Dwyer had "signed, sealed and delivered" a deal to take over from Laois manager Colm Browne.

But reports today suggest otherwise with Kildare secretary Richie Whelan quoted as saying: "Last Saturday he (O'Dwyer) called into my shop in Naas to express the wish that he wanted to stay with us for another year."
