Boland to miss minor final
Tipperary minor hurler John Boland will miss the All-Ireland Final against Kilkenny on Sunday next following a ruling by the Management Committee that any player receiving a red card gets an automatic one month suspension.
The Toomevara player was ordered off, along with three others, in a minor hurling game against Kilruane/McDonagh on August 14 but had not received a one month suspension until the GAA Management Committee and Uachtaran Sean McCague intervened.
Tipperary County Board officials met with the Management Committee in Croke Park yesterday.
Boland , who plays wing back on the team, will now miss the All-Ireland Final.
Toomevara senior hurling full back Tony Delaney received a 48 week suspension arising out of an altercation with the referee in the same game.
