Tipperary eager for Sunday's clash

Tipperary have been building up to Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final against Kilkenny all year, according to 'keeper Brendan Cummins.

The dual star and Premier hurling stopper admitted it's Tipp's biggest game of 2002.

He said: "It's probably the match that everyone including ourselves have been looking forward to.

"We were always building up to this game and hoping that we'd get Kilkenny at Croke Park. It'll be a great game, if we met 10 times we both win five."

Cummins was in the half-forwards for Tom McGlinchey's football side who lost the Munster final replay to Cork recently.

The 2001 hurling All-Star says he's still hungry for action though admitting: "I picked up a knock in football earlier in the year but I'm fine now and can't wait for Sunday.

"I think you'd always find the extra energy when you run out onto Croke Park. To be honest I'm a little anxious and nervous. It's an exciting time."
