Murphy banned for verbal abuse of referee
Meath corner forward Ollie Murphy has been hit with an eight-week ban from the Games Administration Committee.
The All-Star was cited for verbally abusing Cork referee Michael Collins after Meath¹s SFC loss to Donegal at Croke Park.
Murphy¹s ban will be felt heavily by intermediate club Carnaross who will be without him from two months.
Elsewhere, Derry dual star Geoffrey McGonigle has also been banned for eight weeks after directing abuse at a referee while spectating at a club game.
