Dublin 1-04, Donegal 0-06 (half-time)

Dublin lead Donegal by the tightest of margins at half-time in their All-Ireland quarter-final clash at Croke Park.

The first point of the game didn't arrive until the 13th minute when Shane Ryan's opener launched an avalanche of scores.

John Gildea's midfield grafting carved the openings for Brendan Devenney, Damien Diver and Adrian Sweeney to split the posts, but Donegal were rocked almost immediately by a Ray Cosgrove goal.

Substitute defender Diver hit his second as the Ulster side responded with real character and Sweeney shot them back in front from a tight angle.

A brilliant Alan Brogan effort had the sides level and as the action swung relentlessly from end to end, Devenney blazed a wonderful goal chance wide.

Sweeney also squandered an easy free after Cosgrove had eased Dublin ahead by 1-04 to 0-06 in injury-time.
