Tipp rally for major upset

Tipperary have rallied from a four-point half-time deficit to retake the lead against favourites Cork in their Munster football final clash at Semple Stadium.

The unfancied side returned from the dressingroom 2-06 to 0-08 down and despite Cork getting the opening point of the second-half, Tipp took control.

A free from Declan Browne, quickly followed by a point from Paul Curran saw the deficit reduced to two.

Browne - who now had Anthony Lynch switched on him - put over another free before gathering a catch from Peter Lambert and shooting for goal.

His effort was parried out by Cork keeper Kevin O'Dwyer but the ball fell to substitute Benny Hickey, who found the net to give Tipperary the lead.

Peter Lambert and Declan Browne (his eighth point of the game) then added frees to further Tipp's lead.
